Privacy Policy

btrd is operated by AeroSmooth Labs LLC. This policy describes the information used to provide the app and how to contact us.

Information we may collect

• Account information: username, internal user ID, Sign in with Apple identifier, aircraft category, and Group activity. btrd does not request your Apple name or email address.
• Landing session information: landing scores, ratings, touchdown metrics, timestamps, aircraft type, airport/context selections, confidence indicators, and share/report metadata.
• Motion and device data: sensor samples used to detect touchdown and calculate landing review data. This may include acceleration/orientation-style readings during a landing session.
• Location and airport context: precise location used to suggest nearby airports and, for real-flight leaderboard submissions, to check whether the landing endpoint is geographically consistent with the selected airport. The service stores the derived location-consistency status and distance, not the submitted latitude and longitude.
• Approach-context diagnostics: during real-flight recording, btrd may generate and submit a limited summary of speed, sustained movement, altitude change, location-data quality, and whether the device reports software-simulated location. This summary helps evaluate flight-verification checks. It does not include a GPS route or precise coordinates. It may remain on your device while waiting to upload. The service does not store the submitted approach measurements in the landing record; it may retain a private evaluation result, reason, evidence-quality indicator, and evaluator version linked to that record. During the initial evaluation period, this diagnostic check does not affect personal scores or leaderboard eligibility. The separate landing-endpoint location check described above may affect leaderboard eligibility.
• Support information: messages, screenshots, logs, and details you send when requesting help or reporting a problem.

How we use information

• Provide landing scoring, result history, profiles, groups, leaderboards, and app functionality.
• Improve touchdown detection, scoring, reliability, and user experience.
• Respond to support requests and privacy requests.
• Protect the service from abuse, diagnose errors, and maintain security.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We use hosting and infrastructure providers to operate btrd and may disclose information when required by law or at your direction.

Public and shared features

Your username and visible landing details may appear in Ranks, Groups, or landing cards when you use those features. Approach-context summaries and private diagnostic evaluation results are not included in public leaderboard or landing responses.

Data retention and deletion

Raw motion traces uploaded with a landing are normally removed after about seven days. Derived landing information—such as the score, rating, touchdown metrics, airport context, timestamps, location-consistency results, and private approach-context evaluation results—may be retained while needed to provide history, leaderboards, account sync, security, and legal compliance. Precise endpoint coordinates submitted for the real-flight ranking check are processed for that decision and are not retained in the landing record. Operational backups normally expire after about seven days. To request account and landing deletion, use the in-app account controls or email [email protected]. We may verify account ownership before processing a request.

Children

btrd is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it if appropriate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
